Problem Solution Essay On Race And Ethnicity

Over the past decades race and ethnicity have been our main issues all over the world. From long ago during slavery, to civil rights, to now the issues with the 9/11 attacks or the police shootings; race and ethnicity has always been and lately are becoming an even bigger problem in our society. As we have seen on social media the problems about race and ethnicity are definitely being noticed but no solutions have been made. One solution i have for this is do not trust the media on everything, know your facts. Another solution i have discovered is to put yourself in the situation and think about how immoral it is before you judge someone based on their color of their skin. When a police officer shoots a black man and kills him, where do you find out this information/ The news? The paper? No, everyone can find out anything and everything from social networking websites now. The problem with this is anyone can inform you about the information, it could be completely false or completely the wrong story and no one would even know because “it’s on the internet.” People see the media and automatically pick a side without backing up their facts about the subject first. The two solutions when making it a problem, is to know your facts, do your research, and don't let social media do all the influencing. The next solution, put yourself in the other person's shoes before making a bias opinion. As said in the Article Social Media Conversations About Race from the Pew Research Center says “Social Media also can serve as an important venue where groups with common interests come together to share ideas and information.” This is true and it is okay to have an opinion, you just have to back it up with facts, not hate.
