Student Parking Its a crisp October Monday morning as Jill makes her way to the Tyler Junior College. She anticipated a crowded campus so she woke up thirty minutes earlier than she usual, just to ensure herself a parking space on campus. Upon arrival she soon realizes that her plan failed, every student parking space near her class was filled. The clock already showed that she had ten minutes before she will be late. She hastily parks then makes her way to the building where her class will be held. Jill was late after all, this was always happening to her. It seemed it didn 't matter when she would arrive she always got to class late because of the student parking. The problematic issue of student parking at Tyler Junior College is the parking lots are too small to fit all the students, parking areas are too far away from any classrooms, and there isn’t enough surveillance in these lots. It is uncommon to find a campus security officer patrolling the parking areas. This arises many questions and concerns for students because their safety is in question. It can be very unnerving to walk to your vehicle in the dark without someone accompanying you. Many students like to hang around and chat after class around the cars which can leave some students feeling vulnerable to some form of attack. Their isn 't a gate that surrounds the campus grounds so anyone can just walk freely around at night almost undetected, there have been many cases of students-both man and woman-being attacked while walking alone to their car. This can deter many students from attending night classes because they are fearing for their own safety. A student should never feel as if they aren 't safe while walking around campus. But this doesn 't mean it isn 't an issue. Although there are campus police, the student to police ratio isn 't up to par. On top of safety their
