I saw the posting for a Probation Officer, and am pleased to submit my resume. I am a hard-working and enthusiastic Human/Social Service professional with eight years of practical hands on experience and am ready for my next job in this industry.
My goal as a probation officer is to help people modify their behavior to that which is ethically acceptable to legal standards and hopefully to the degree they find morally acceptable for themselves. With each probationer, there is a risk and an assessment evaluating their likeliness to reoffend while considering dual diagnosis such as mental health and addition issues. Since I do not mind challenging or stressful professions I am willing to work with probationers to articulate goals and develop

    One evidence based practice, known as motivational interviewing (MI) is a communication strategy centered on motivational processes that facilitate the change of unhealthy and problematic behaviors in a manner congruent with the personal values and concerns of the probationer, by exploring and resolving ambivalence (Cook et al., 2013, p. 2).
