Test Essay The outcome of the Planned Parenthood defunding debate could potentially oppress thousands of women across the United States. The unequal lack of healthcare opportunities for women and poor individuals would be a form of oppression because those with power, or money, would have much easier access to these services. Planned Parenthood’s main focus is providing services for women and families. They offer services on a sliding scale to ensure that all women have access to affordable health care.…

Planned Parenthood is known for testing and treating patients, but an unrecognized service that they provide is being there for a patient to talk to. Often patients find themselves going there for any questions knowing that Planned Parenthood is a safe and judgment free option. They might even feel more comfortable going to Planned Parenthood, rather than going to their normal doctor. No matter what the question is a patient can go to Planned Parenthood and leave feeling respected with their question answered. They also offer sex-ed talks with teenagers, making sure they are well infromed.…

Insiders say President Donald Trump is strongly considering cutting off abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood from Title X funding, a move that has liberals very worried ahead of crucial midterm elections in November, according to Axios. The decision would mean that Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics would be forced to choose between either losing federal funding or ending all abortion referrals. This would be historic and deliver a historic victory to pro-lifers, and liberals should be very concerned.…

Society has been, and always will be determined to be greater and better than what it was in the past. Unfortunately with Eugenics, and its implementation, it sought to better society in a non-humanitarian way, to almost the points of de-humanizing the people who fell into a certain category. For the American Eugenics Society to clearly and outright state that “Some people are born to be a burden on the rest” is a very uneasy and not well thought out statement against people who are essentially different then the norm. Looking through this exhibit and seeing the time and energy that went into something so negative and demeaning, to the point where they had university courses offered at such intellectual universities (Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, and Brown,) where they should be focusing on factual information, backed up by science and the scientific method, but instead focused on ego boosting material.…

Planned Parenthood is an organization that is critical for both men and women to have available. Without funding from the government, people who relied on Planned Parenthood would be without needed health care. Contrary to what people think Planned Parenthood is about more than just abortion, they provide many more services. One thing that no other health care center can do is provide the level of care that Planned Parenthood can. Wether you need to be tested, treated, or just someone to talk to Planned Parenthood is there.…

Despite the attacks on Planned Parenthood, there are still 700 Planned Parenthood health care centers across the country and Planned Parenthood is still working with legislation to introduce bills to expand and protect access to reproductive health care across the country. Alternative Solutions or Policies The anti-abortion debate and attack on reproductive health care rights is concerning to me as a woman, what concerns me the most however is affordability of abortion. The Hyde Amendment passed in 1976 excludes abortion from the comprehensive health care services provided by the federal government through Medicaid to people who are low income. There are currently only 17 out of 50 states that fund abortions for low-income women on same or similar terms as other pregnancy-related and/or general health services.…

There are people who support the defunding of Planned Parenthood, but there is no substantial evidence to support the righteousness of this action. It is well known that “The Catholic Church continues to frown on contraception” (“How”). This will obviously influence Catholics to defund Planned Parenthood because the organization provides many different forms of contraceptives, which would seemingly violate their religious rules. However, “Protecting oneself from them is more than just a good idea. It is an investment in future good health, in future relationships, in the ability to have children, perhaps in the chance for a long life” (Yancey 87).…

Why Abortion should be Legal Abortion can change a woman’s life, whether they undergo the procedure or if they are restricted against doing so. Today, abortion can be a very controversial matter, and there are many mixed feelings about it. People who are “pro-choice” support abortion being allowed, and those who are “pro-life” do not. However, legalizing abortion would have many benefits, specifically acknowledging women's rights when considering this option. Abortion is ending the life of a living being. That is exactly what Pro-Life advocates think. Zoran Minderovic, the Prime Minister of Croatia, wrote in his article about abortion saying, “‘pro-life’ forces define abortion as murder” (1). Because the Pro-Life campaign believes that abortion is murder, they do not support abortion. Benjamin J. Stein, a Pro-Life supporter, made a statement about the violence of abortion saying, “Now, I want to be the first to admit that not everyone sees abortion as the ending of a life……

According to the World Health Organization, “Every year there is an estimated 40-50 million abortions, which is 125,000 abortions per day.” People may say that abortion is okay to do because the babies don’t feel any pain when the procedure is performed, the US Supreme Court says it is a fundamental right, and it empowers women to control over their own bodies. Abortion is not right because of that. The individuals should have thought about the consequences before conceiving and it is now the consequence of their actions. So they have the responsibility to take care of that child.…
