Anthony and Elizabeth Cady, authors of the feminist newspaper The Revolution, call abortion “child murder”. I have heard this wording before, and every time it strikes me as absurd. A fetus is not a child, since they do not have regular wave patterns. If you do not have this, you are considered brain dead and are legally defined dead, even if your heart is still beating. By these terms, a fetus cannot be murdered. Can you argue with that?
You can write about as many strong females against abortion as you want, but I will never believe in the pro-life movement. I cannot see how taking away the woman’s choice to abort is going to make us stronger. Forcing a young child to go through pregnancy, a rape victim to give birth, or simply anyone, really, is unfair. The cause is not for feminism, I feel, but for other, hidden reasons. How can something as selfish as forcing a unwanted child into this world be positive? I could go on for days with my arguments, but I think I’ll end it with a quote; I doubt I could say it better than this:
No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg
