There have been many proposals by different theorists that legalizing marijuana can actually boost revenue for the states. Prohibition of weed does not stop people from buying it. The government should make it legal and tax it like any other product just as they did alcohol many years ago. Having this new item on the market will cause a jump in revenue. Taxes that people pay on weed can help build roads, make repairs and adjustments etc. A down side is boosting revenue for the states cost more for the consumer, especially the avid marijuana consumer.
