Sports, to some it is one of the most important things in their life, to others it is just something to watch on the weekend. One thing I know for sure, people love sports. But, some believe that they are overpaid and/or over glorified. In this paper I will discus both sides of the coin. Although, each sport pays differently there is one thing that you can say about all of them, they pay a lot. I can see why people get upset when they struggle to make there payments but hear about someone who makes millions for just playing a sport. Here is some statistics, the highest paid Chicago Bulls player makes approx. 13.5 million a year, while the lowest paid player is about $888,000 that’s an average of about 5 million. So you can just look at that one stat there and can tell that they are paid a lot of money. Here is another example the highest paid Chicago Blackhawks player is 6.3 million a year, but the lowest paid is $512,000 with an average of 2.7 million. Role models have a huge impact on ones educational motivations and what the person values I there life. Most and dare I say most athletes end up in some kind of trouble. But, some play there game and do their duties and maintain there payments and end up retiring squeaky clean. I do not think that it is a bad thing for kids to have role models at all but the parents need to be careful on who they pick and decide to follow. But, now there is a new term that people use “hero worship” and that is not a good thing. Hero worship is like following and doing everything that that person does on a daily basis. Buying all the same gear, same cars, same hair, dress the same. They try to center their life on that one person who may not be a good person for them to be so consumed
