To begin, those against assisted suicide believe that the procedure is sacrilegious and disobeys the “Hippocratic Oath”. Often times patients go through a tremendous amount of pain when going through treatments. People have the responsibility to end the pain of others if it is the best option. (“Assisted”) If someone’s sees a person in pain they should help. Being a witness to someone’s torture is almost as bad as afflicting the pain yourself. Moreover, treatments for diseases sometimes just make patients more comfortable. But the bottom line is, pain is pain. “Medical technology has given us the power to sustain the lives (or, as some would say, prolong the deaths).”(“Assisted”) In some cases poor life conditions are worse than death.
