I have submitted to the Surf Coast Shire a recommendation which has entailed a suggested plan .Once the clean up work has been conducted by Surf Coast Shire, DELWP and the EPA with the possible scraping or capping of the reserve. This will minimise any contamination, being health hazards to anyone or anything. I have proposed a raised timber Boardwalk encompassing the area, this will provide the public with many viewing platforms , pergola picnic areas, bird hides for observers , metal silhouettes of indigenous people/wildlife, camouflaged into the native vegetation , giving a glimpse of the past with information plaques, focussing on plant /wildlife/ ecosystems and cultural significance of the region. This will provide protection and give respect, to the environment with minimal damage.…

In 2009, it became evident that we needed a new agreement that would be more efficient. This is when the Watershed agreement came into existence. This agreement consisted of ten different goals: the sustainable fishers goal, vital habitats goal, water quality goal, toxic contaminants goal, healthy watersheds goal, climate resiliency goal, land conservation goal, stewardship goal, public access goal, and environmental literacy goal. This is necessary to ensure extraction and delivery of sufficient energy is possible. Nationwide, there has been controversy about the Atlantic Coastline Pipeline. It spans approximately 600 miles and will bring much needed affordable energy and many economic benefits. But many environmentalists are more concerned about the farmlands and forests that they believe will be negatively affected by this addition. They argue that the damage this pipeline will cause outweighs the benefit.…

Rebuttal 1 - My opponent argues that Proposition 227 improved standardized test scores when it passed. Even if it was, which many studies disagree over, it is not beneficial anymore. It is outdated. Proposition 227 was passed 18 years ago – before the iPhone existed, before we had our first Black president, before we created laws against smoking. Our world has changed in ways that would have been unfathomable in 1998.…

Among the other environmental issue, the most pressing health issue in Maryland that I selected as being the top priority and most essential is “Saving the Chesapeake Bay”. The Chesapeake Bay is an estuary, a body of water that is formed where freshwater from streams and rivers flows into the ocean, mixing with sea water. The nation’s water is in jeopardy to 10,000 miles of Maryland streams affected by the polluting industries that carved loopholes in the Clean Water Act.1 "Save the Bay" campaign is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation – the largest conservation organization in Maryland that their mission focus on reducing pollution, restoring and protecting the wetlands and forests. Some of the major issues saving the Bay are not only of saving the 200-mile-long inlet that runs from Havre de Grace, Maryland to Norfolk, Virginia, also the 50 major rivers and streams that pour into the bay each day, and the creeks that feed those rivers and streams.1 A…

On the popular show Gossip Girl, characters arrive at school every day looking pristine and put together, with their plaid skirts, crisply pressed button up shirts, and cashmere blazers. Though Maumee Valley is no TV show and may not be set in the bustling streets of New York City, we should take note of the iconic school uniforms. A school uniform policy is a fundamental change in the environment of students (Bowen). This could improve our school image and let Maumee Valley reach its highest potential.…

The rich biodiversity of the Great Barrier Reef is maintained by the implementation of zones as shown in the diagram. Areas of the reef that are vulnerable to human induced stress are termed as preservation zones where human activities are excluded. Intragenerational equity is evident through the acknowledgement of the indigenous people who occupied the land for over 60, 000 years. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Indigenous Partnerships Group works with traditional owners groups, government and private sector agencies to manage the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The preservation and scientific research zones demonstrate a precautionary approach to the management of the Great Barrier Reef as we still do not know enough about ecosystems such as the Great Barrier Reef to utilise it in a way that reduces its functioning.…

There is a caraban park near th beach, and it is the biggest source of money to the village. And the biggest issue is that the local government decided not to support sea defences because of high cost, the size of village and potential effect further down the coast. Groynes used to protect the coastline of this village, but now it is too old and abondoned. Therefore, instead of the local government, the Environment Agency formed by the local residents has done the protections such as building flood banks. The flood bank is built by rocks, and it pushed the sea water into the Humber Estuary.…

The concept of “Marine spatial planning” is subject to a diverse range of titles depending on the geographic location of the marine body and the country leading on its theoretical development and practical implementation.
