“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit” (New International Bible 1 Corinthians 6:19). The bible even relates to the body being an important part of one’s life. When a woman is deprived of the chance to make a choice that could protect her body from harm it makes it difficult to make something like abortion illegal. What if one cannot endure childbirth and could kill both the baby and herself? Are the ones against abortion going to continue to bash these woman for wanting to be healthy and living? Woman has to sometimes put aside what others are going to think of them to protect their overall well-being. As a nation in the United States we have come so far with women's rights to end it at controlling whether a woman has the right to do whatever she pleases with her body. Women who fall victim to rape should never have to follow through with a pregnancy. If being raped isn’t traumatizing to a woman; imagine having to go full term with the rapist’s baby inside of the woman for nine months. The woman would most likely become depressed and hate themselves because of what someone else has done to them. Even though many say that the woman who has been raped should deliver the baby and put the child up for adoption, some women can’t take the emotional stress of that. In most cases that I have seen with women being raped and having their child they have a resentment towards the child. They cannot help feeling that way because the child is reminding her of a time that is so terrifying and horrible that they are disconnecting from the child. Would you blame her for feeling that she will be giving birth to a monster’s child?
