Prison Ethos Pathos Logos

For an advanced and complicated topic like this one, my audience is most likely going to be middle aged, middle class, white men. These are the men that use their political impact to vote on issues surrounding the prison system and the free American market and are hopefully going to get well informed about all aspects of this topic. This demographic will respond to facts and statistics, using logic and reasoning over personal feelings and emotions. I will also need to use many credible sources to increase the chance of being taken as someone who is knowledgeable on this topic. While constructing this paper, inserting heavy influences of ethos and logos. Pathos may have some influence but it will primarily be my passion and interest showing through my writing. Although this demographic needs credibility and facts to be swayed in their opinions, they must be presented in a way that will keep interest. This middle class, middle aged group will not respond to long winded sources that use obscenely intense vocabulary and is merely there to show facts. I cannot sound like an 18-year-old college freshman who just checked out books at the school’s library. As myself, I do not seem credible to most adults.
