Concentration camp or strict prison? The thing about these prison camps, not many people are aware of the bad things that happen inside them. Someone says “prison” and people think, “place where they put bad people.” Generally speaking, yes, a prison is where most countries put the murderers, rapists, robbers. North Korea always likes to do things a bit different from the rest of the world. North Korea is a country that not many people know much about. It’s because they are so controlled by their leader, Kim Jong-un. Not many things get in to North Korea, nor get out. Thus is why people are clueless about these prison camps. Crimes that are committed in the prisons is: forced labor, rape, forced abortion, starvation, and death without charge or trial (Kwan-Li, S. 2014). Asking questions is prohibited in North Korean prison camps. “People, who ask questions, are executed on the spot” (North Korean Defector Who Spent 28 Years in Prison Camp Details Hunger, Torture, and Cannibalism in the DPRK 2014). Anything the guards say or does, that person must do. Most people in the camps die from starvation or physical abuse. “There are two ways a guard in North Korea can legally kill prisoners. The first is to beat them until they die and the other is to get them to starve to death” (Kwang-il. J. 2014). People in these camps are so hungry; they go to the resort of cannibalism.
