What happened to paper ? Is print the past. When reading the text of " print is dead" Ms. Jamison introduces the idea that a culture of magazines once very prominent and large is now slowly being terminated by technology now used by online media. The notion that print is dying is surely one to take with a grain of salt as print today is now filled with craft and sharpness. While magazines were out in the bunches in the past to bring information, today we have the Internet. Magazines today are now very professional, Known as indie magazines they are one of the most top crafted and detail oriented magazines in the market. Ms. Jamison introduces the idea that these magazines are a product of the technological advances we face today. I was immediately intrigued by the writing because its style really is familiar yet different, alarming yet soothing. She combines the style with tone to ease you into the information that can be seen as alarming due to the nature of the piece itself. The information itself is enough to pull in readers like myself that share the common interest within the subject. The way she delivers the text really intrigues me not only because it works as an informative to the recession within the print community, but also a introduction. She introduces as well the magazines thriving from this recession but also the way it is delivered through the style really intertwines both subjects. We can infer in this sentence how her style and tone are informative "Why has a previously thriving industry found itself so diminished? The obvious answer is that the rise of digital media has caused readerships to shrink" this sentence is a prime example of how alarming yet soothing her way of communicating the information combines the style and tone in her
