Black Panthers
The Black Panthers was a revolutionary black nationalist and socialist group that was active in the United States beginning in 1966 and ended in 1982. (Wikipedia, May 2016.). It only had 1 international chapter that operated in Algeria, Africa which started in 1969 and came to an end in 1972. (Wikipedia, May 2016.). Scholars view the Black Panthers political party as the most influential black movement organization of the late 1960s. In their view it was a combination of the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). These rules would be what each member lives by daily and what each member would practice daily. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.).These guidelines were known as the Ten-Point Program, which were comprised into two sections. The first of them being what they wanted know from the racist leaders in the American society. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). The second section was described as what they believe to be the truth that people should follow. For the section that is labeled “WHAT WE WANT KNOW”, it lists ten rules that should be entitled to the blacks in any given community as it is given to the white citizens. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). So the main point of the first section is to give the blacks in the community the same rights as whites and to end the discrimination between the races. In the second section labeled “WHAT WE BELIEVE”, it is stating ten facts that the black panthers believe will be the case if things do not change for the better. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). All a person must do is follow a set of rules that they must live by daily and most report it to their superiors or they will be considered unfaithful and removed from the party. These rules state that a member will not be under the influence of anything while taking care of any responsibilities for the party. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). Each member will not have any weapon on them or be involved with anything that involves physical violence unless the party wishes for it. ("USA History Achieves. “ May 2016.). Each member will also follow the most common rules of the law as well as if they are put under arrest, they will not give out any information about who, what, or where the Black Panthers are, only give out their name and obvious information about themselves.
