• How many formal encounters occur during the evaluation process? o The Superintendent meet with principals quarterly, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction meets with principals quarterly, and the Director of Secondary Education monthly;

I feel that the evaluation process is overall a fair and evenhanded process. It focus on the following criteria; vison, instructional leadership, effective management, climate, school-community relations, ethical behavior, interpersonal skills, staff development, principal professional development, and student growth. Moreover, there is a judicious rating scale; which allows for a detailed rubric of the standards that must be met in order to receive an appropriate rating. Likewise, with regards to the student growth standard; evaluators are giving a decision matrix to allow them to better understand how to properly evaluate student growth. More importantly, this evaluation is completed by at least two evaluators, and allows for appeal and due process if the principal is unhappy with the results, or feels as if it does not properly reflect the work that is being portrayed.
