Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana’s ex mother-in-law, said of her: “In good times and bad, she never lost her capacity to smile and laugh, nor to inspire others with her warmth and kindness”(The Queen’s). So many people loved Princess Diana. She was compassionate to everyone. Although Princess Diana came from a wealthy family, her life completely changed when she married Prince Charles. Princess Diana was born July 1, 1961 near Sandringham, England. Sadly, her parents divorced in 1969 when her mother ran away with a wealthy heir. Her father gained custody of her and her three siblings. Her father inherited the title Earl Spencer in 1975 (Princess). Princess Diana lived closely with the royal family. She lived in London with three roommates and worked as a nanny, a housekeeper, and a kindergarten teacher. In 1980, Diana and Prince Charles were reacquainted from their childhood years. After meeting again, they dated for six months, and then married on July 29, 1981. Princess Diana’s engagement ring cost $63,000. Her wedding gown had a 25-foot train that was the longest in royal wedding history. The couple spent their time in two homes: a country home, Highgrove, and the Kensington Palace in London. The press and people around the whole world were infatuated with the couple. They thought of Princess Diana as a major fashion icon and an all-around role model. Prince William was born on June 21, 1982, and Prince Harry on September 15,1984. The whole world had their eyes on the couple. She was dating an Egyptian film producer and playboy named Dodi Al-Fayed when she died. They were both killed in a car wreck in Paris involving paparazzi on August 30, 1997. However, Princess Diana was said to have a secret lover named Hasnat Khan. He was a Pakistani heart surgeon who claimed to have no involvement with Princess Diana. Even though he said him and Diana never dated, there was a movie, Diana, which focused mainly on the couple and the last two years of her life. Khan did not cooperate with the movie and is said to laugh at some of the scenes because of how unrealistic they are (Diana’s Impossible Dream 3,6).
