Princess Diana married into the British royal family, which resulted in two children with the marriage ending in divorce. She married the Prince of Wales, Charles Philip Arthur George (“Diana, Princess of Wales”). Prince Charles and Princess Diana had met previous times before they finally began a relationship. When Princess Diana visited her sister, she met Prince Charles again in 1980. He proposed to her after they dated for about six months (“Princess Diana Biography” about.com). Their wedding drew attention from varying spectrums throughout the entire world. At St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, on July 29th, 1981, Prince Charles and Princess Diana married. For the first time in 300 years, an Englishwoman married an heir to the throne (“Diana, Princess of Wales”). A little less than a year after the wedding, Prince Charles and Princess Diana had a child. Their first child, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, was born on June 21st, 1982 (“Princess Diana Biography”). Two years later, Prince Charles and Princess Diana had another baby boy. On September 15th, 1984, Princess Diana gave birth to Prince Henry Charles Albert David, often referred to as “Prince Harry” (“Princess Diana Biography”). Unfortunately, after having children, the couple began to grow apart, which ended in divorce. John Major, the British Prime Minister, announced the separation between Prince Charles and Princess Diana in December 1992 when he read a statement from the royal family to the House of Commons. In 1996, the divorce completely ended (“Princess Diana Biography”). Both Prince Charles and Princess Diana received the blame for the divorce ending. Over time, they began to alienate each other with reports of affairs on both sides (“Princess Diana Biography”).
