Princess Bride Movie Vs Book

Improved Essays
The book I chose to read was “The Princess Bride” by William Goldman. This book has many elements of adventure, romance, and just a touch of comedy in it, but can be classified as a fantasy romance novel. Two countries are on the edge of war when Princess Buttercup is kidnapped by a group of three men. Vizzini, the leader of the entourage, is very clever and was ordered to kill Princess Buttercup. The other two members are Fezzik, a sympathetic giant who doesn’t want to be left alone, and Indigo, a revenge filled swordsman. Princess Buttercup is being forced to marry Prince Humperdinck, a spoiled man who loves nothing more than hunting, after she was traumatized with the loss of her one true love, Westley. Buttercup is gentle and said to be the most beautiful girl in the land. Westley is an obedient worker who used to work for Buttercup’s family …show more content…
Like every movie I see that is based off of a book, the book was much better. “The Princess Bride” also includes everything I like in a book. It is filled with adventure and the fight for love. This book also follows the same storyline as many fairy tales, meaning that it will have a happy ending. The idea of a happily ever after brings me back to my earlier years where I didn’t have to worry about responsibilities. I also picked this book because I wanted to see how my perspective has changed on the events from when I was younger to now. I remember that when I was little, I would wish that I was Princess Buttercup because she was beautiful and had everything done for her because she was royalty. Although now that I have aged a bit, I realized that she didn’t have it that easy. Even though Buttercup was beautiful, she had to deal with the hardship of losing her soul mate and family. And when she found Westley once more, it brought back all of her pain because they were forbidden to see each other by Prince Humperdinck, her

The Princess Bride is a compelling novel that retains your interest by telling enthralling tales of revenge, love, despair, and hate. It includes most of the typical stereotypes that is found in your average fairytale, but it is far from your average classic fairytale with its ever-present plot twists. Each character has a downfall, and none of them are completely valiant and selfless. Each character has a captivating motive behind their actions. A typical hero is not included in the story despite the many heroic actions that are fulfilled throughout the story.…

I believe the movie and the book has a happy ending. After worrying about losing Michel’s family and Italian heritage if they split apart, Hamilton finally put her foot down with Michel’s narcissistic ways. She filed for a divorce; I am sure it wasn’t easy to go through, especially with two young children. I can only imagine the anxiety she went through when planning the first trip back to Italy after the divorce. She put those feelings behind her and went anyway.…

In the show ‘Once Upon A Time’, Snow White (Mary Margaret), is the true definition of bravery, kindness, faith, hope, unselfishness, and any other word you can think of. Snow White lost her mother when she was very young, and her father married Regina (evil queen). What the story doesn’t mention though, is that Regina was once a very kind and good hearted person herself. She became dark because she was in love with a stable boy named Daniel, and her mother would never let them be together. She arranged the marriage between Regina and the king.…

A general misperception is that when movies that are based on a novel, or graphic novel, are made with have the same storyline, characters and archetypes. However, it is my humble opinion that movies made from books are drastically different to the original. The graphic novel Coraline was written by Neil Gaiman. As it was extremely popular, it’s no wonder, Henry Selick later turned it into a movie. There are so many different literary devices in the two versions that it provides an opportunity to convey that these changes have been made in order to appeal to the target audience.…

The Rose Society is a fantasy novel by American author Marie Lu released on October 13, 2015.Marie Lu is the author of the New York Times bestselling series The Young Elites, as well as the bestselling book The Rose Society. The Rose Society as it explored Adelina's more psychotic side, stating that she was scared that nobody would want to read a story with a character as "unlikeable" as Adelina, and she struggled to make it look reasonable and not just a symptom of pure insanity. Author compared Adelina to “Darth Vader” stating that she thought that it would be fun that the story is written in dark vader's view, but after finishing the story she realized that she was instead exposing the darker and complex side of subconscious unstable villains. “By permitting her characters some grand failures, raises the in the best…

I love this book because it’s very positive and relatable other than the obvious parts such as the factions and the war. The story is about a young girl who is terrified about choosing her future and potentially making the wrong decision. Plus, I love the romance which is very sweet and is basically my favourite love story because it starts out as a few lingering looks and turns into them realizing their feelings for each other and falling in love. All in all, it’s a wonderful story and I would gladly recommend it to…

I love it when an old fairytale gets revamped, especially when it is done well. A Court of Thorns and Roses did not disappoint, it was still Beauty and the Beast but it also had an enticingly new aspect of faeries. Reading this was sort of like Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey books eloped and had a child with the amazing story of Beauty and the Beast that dressed up in the finest of writing styles. I have to admit, I went into this book biased for three reasons. One, I love faeries.…

Hi, I chose the story of The Happy Prince because it is a beautiful story that opens our eyes to the current reality, where poverty and greed abound, and with the example of solidarity of the prince we can be born love and peace. Descriptive paragraph : The happy prince is the story of a statue that lay in the highest part of the city, whose statue was admired by all, from the children to the highest representatives of the city, like the mayor. Even a failed man, who cried to see the statue so happy and said, if there is someone in the world completely happy.…
