God has only been down on this earth once and Aslan has only been to his holy place once. A few people got to witness Jesus’s lifetime but many had to just have faith in the stories. Lewis shows that the Narnians haven’t seen their king in years but they like to believe “in the meantime he would like us to do what we can on our own” (Lewis 13.1). He portrays the Christian theme of faith here again when the Narnians choose to have faith that Aslan is coming back and they will do what they can while he is gone. After the Narnians beat Prince Caspian’s evil uncle the high ruler commanded,
“Peter bestowed the Knighthood of the Order of the Lion on Caspian, and Caspian, as soon as he was knighted, himself bestowed it on Trufflehunter and Trumpkin and Reepicheep, and made Doctor Cornelius his Lord Chancellor, and confirmed the Bulgy Bear in his hereditary office of Marshal of the Lists. And there was great applause.” (15.20)
Jesus picks who is in his army and who is high in his army, and Lewis shows here that the Narnians do it the same way. Lewis shows how faithful the Narnians are and how faithful Christians should
