Andrews goes into more detail off the bat. He explains every character in the painting in the same amount of detail, and he connects the painting with the Fasti far better than Burroughs did in his article. He explains the connection of Mercury to the month of May, he explains the context of the Graces, and a better idea of how Flora came to be. Andrews also goes I to explain how, “Poliziano’s surviving poems have reminded scholars of Botticelli’s painting” (Andrews 80). Afterwards he later goes on to explain how this is what helped aid the Fasti in unfolding the truth behind the Primavera. These poems weren’t eve addressed in Boroughs’ article, and this seems odd considering how much emphasis Andrews uses to show the importance of these poems. Then after that he goes on to explain the importance of the patron, who was meant to be Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco, and what the story behind the Primavera
