Primary Sources Of European History From 1300 To 1700

There are many primary sources you can choose to read or see to better understand the European history from the years 1300-1700. The three I chose are very good because they all talk about the history but from different views and occurrences. The first source I would refer to is the Italian Renaissance Reader. From 1300-1700 was when the Renaissance occurred and this book gives you an idea of who all the best writers, scholars, painters, poets, architects, and power family names were. Each selection represents a person from one or many of those fields to talk about how they lived and worked in the Renaissance. The Renaissance was widely known for producing all these great fields of talented artists and that’s why this book is so important because it’s insight of one of the biggest outcomes of the Renaissance. You don’t only see how they lived and worked it also gives good background on how they did their art and the specifics of why they painted, wrote, sculpted, etc. It’s also helpful that they talked about the techniques and tools that were new during the Renaissance that helped them reach higher standards in art. …show more content…
It is a drawing of mass in a catholic church during the year 1523. It is a simple drawing yet represents so much, the Catholic Church had so much power and everybody always fell back on the Catholic Church and God to help them out of problems or to be the leader to guide them to whatever they need.
