We have concluded the primary NIC for the family is Family Process Maintenance (Ackley & Ladwig, 2014). We advised and helped the family implement the following interventions:
We asked the family member to distinguish the need for help with one to three tasks each day and taught them how to ask for it (Ackley & Ladwig, 2014).
We encouraged the family to express positive thoughts and emotions to one another at the end of each day and after a spouse receives help with the completion of a task (Ackley & Ladwig, 2014).
The family was encouraged to allow all internal/external family members to assist in J.L.M.’s care, one to two evenings per week and/or weekends (Ackley & Ladwig, 2014).
