While obesity has been known to develop in people of all ages, our campaign would like to focus on students in elementary schools. To tackle the influx of obesity among children, it would be best to target this population as the primary audience. The primary audience is the group of people that are directly influenced by the campaign. Our primary audience consists solely of children because the messages will be tailored to fit their population.
The messages will demonstrate characters that they can relate to and focus on using language that they will understand. The language that will be used for this particular audience will be basic and clear. When targeting children, it is important to demonstrate the intended behavior changes that we wish to accomplish with the campaign. This population is straightforward and they obey the word of authority figures. Elementary school students are interested in cartoons and the media. Therefore, our preferred channel usage will be television and online media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.

Parents must attend a meeting where the importance of sixty minutes of physical activity is discussed. Parents will need to understand the sustainability of their children in developing obesity. Our campaign will also try to focus on parents of children who are overweight or obese to determine in the parent is a factor in the child’s condition. The campaign will also print material for parents on what are the perceived risks of developing obesity and how this may affect the health of their child. All of the materials used to communicate with parents will be based off of the MyPlate.org, the CDC, and the Let’s Move
