Pride In University Research Paper

Pride. Family. Faith. I am looking for a university that values these things as much as I do. As soon as I stepped foot on the Baylor campus, I knew I found just that place. Students shouting “Sic’em” as we made our way through campus made it clear they had great pride in their school and loved being a Baylor Bear. Having grown up watching sports and cheering on my favorite teams, this made an immediate impression on me. Warm and friendly people greeted each other and smiled at us making me feel like family and relieving my fears of not fitting in. As I visited with a friend currently at Baylor, her stories of attending chapel confirmed Baylor’s commitment to truly enrich each student’s faith. She shared with me that through chapel her faith continued to grow. Her words strongly resonated with me and made me excited about being given that same opportunity if I attend Baylor. Being part of a university that …show more content…
Blevins in the Education Department. Having a strong desire to become an Elementary teacher, Baylor’s education program particularly interested me. As Dr. Blevins described the program, her enthusiasm was contagious. From our conversation, I could tell that professors stressed personal relationships between themselves and students. They truly cared about every student and had their best interests at heart. Our visit made me want to be a part of this amazing learning community. Moreover, not only did Baylor have a great education department, the commitment displayed by the professors to keeping Baylor a Christian college made it even more appealing. Being encouraged and supported in my faith while learning to live on my own is a critical part of my college experience. Baylor offers just that. As I look forward to starting the next chapter of my life, my visit convinced me that Baylor is the perfect place to

Being a TCU horned frog feels right for many reasons. TCU affords me the opportunity to move away from my hometown, Waco, it allows me to select from any of the majors I've considered; it provides me all of the resources I need to learn and excel; and it means I get to cheer on one of the best football teams in the nation, all while being in a faith-growing environment. I found, during my campus tour, the aspect I was most impressed by was the TCU spirit. Every student my tour group encountered wore a prideful smile, excitedly greeting their peers and every now and then one would yell a “Go frogs!”.…

You'll feel the inescapable pull of the UT Austin spirit in a million ways. For some, it's finding that secret studying (or napping!) spot tucked away in a quiet library full of ancient manuscripts; for others, it's the roar of the burnt orange crowd as 100,000 voices unify to the words of "The Eyes of Texas. " Whatever the case, our many traditions help to strengthen our community and bind us together as Longhorns — proud, ambitious and determined to change the world.…

My primary thoughts towards Gordon College were created during a prospective student day. It turned out to be a negative experience that created a pessimistic view of this school and carried on my cynical view of Christians. It’s important because had I continued with my previous bias I would have attended a secular college which may have been a positive experience but would have definitely lead to a drastically different life.…

This being the case, they have inspired my decision to be a teacher, preferably an elementary school teacher. Last year, I sat in on my aunt’s third grade class at Washington Irving, an elementary school in my district that I attended for three years. After visiting the classroom a handful of times, I absolutely fell in love.…

The most meaningful act that caused me to continue my matriculation at OSU was the environment and opportunities the university offers. I graduated with 33 students; there was another Black student in my class. I have always been in the minority; when it came time to decide where I wanted to attend the college I considered an HBCU. I thought an HBCU would offer me the community and experience a PWI could not. However, since I was born in Stillwater and my father received his Master’s Degree from OSU, I decided to give the university a shot.…

One major value I have relating to my choice of going to CSU Stanislaus was my value for higher education. I understand many people around the world are capable people of getting a higher education, but just because of where they live they will never be able to achieve a higher education. Since I understand this I think it would be ashame if I didn’t go to college when so many others would fight for a chance at it. As for familial values I grew up in a diversity family both from an economic level and a ethic level. I understand members of my family felt they didn’t have a chance at college in the past due to their economic status or ethnicities.…
