True to the title, Pride and Prejudice is filled to the brim with characters that exhibit those two flaws and many more. The main heroine Elizabeth to the imperious and powerful Lady Catherine to everyone in between, almost everyone in the novel shows some form of one of these flaws.
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy is an important character in Pride and Prejudice. The nephew of Lady Catherine de Bourgh who could be considered the main antagonist of the novel, Darcy is introduced as a rich snobbish character that frowns upon life at Netherfield Park as the neighbors are not as high class as his own Pemberley. Collins is a preacher under the patronage of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, and as the closest male relative to Mr. Bennet he is the one that will inherit the house when Mr. Bennet dies. Mr Collins is a perfect example of both pride and prejudice as he exhibits both flaws incredibly often. His pride is shown literally anytime he opens his mouth because anytime he can stress his own self importance or his position in his church and connection to Lady Catherine, he does. And his prejudice is just as bad. He automatically assumes that everyone likes him because of the constant spew of superficial compliments that come out of his mouth, because he is a preacher, because of his connections and influence, or whatever else he can come up with. This is proven true several times throughout the novel, such as the case of Darcy vs. Wickham. In many cases characters react to the same flaw in different ways, such as Elizabeth and Darcy overcoming their prejudices while people such as Mr. Collins never shed their shallow world views. This book is an excellent criticism on how first impressions so massively shape our views on a person and how we should seek to avoid those initial prejudices so that we can eventually find someone who makes us truly
