If it was kept as the initial title of, First Impressions, then readers would not need to think deeper into the characters characteristics and then it would not be as interesting. The meaning of the whole novel is not about first impressions and characters meeting each other, there is much more detail than that. Pride and Prejudice makes the reader think of more in detail about the characters and how they would gradually change throughout the story, what were they prideful about, and to whom they were prejudice towards or how. The title gives a minor insight and a boundary of what the book is going to be about and if the title was the initial then it would change the reading by taking the suspense out of it compared to the new title where the reader could ask how is a character prideful or prejudice; keeping interest in the reading. It could have changed how one read the novel by having readers looking for the wrong idea in the book and later causing boredom to its readers due to predetermined thoughts of what it would be about just from the title. Throughout the story is a lot of judging books by its cover and in this case that is almost exactly what is going on towards the title. One can judge the book by its cover and after reading a small amount of it can destroy the suspense. Austen changing the title gave the novel more edge and suspense in to
