Percy Jackson is a series written by Rick Riordan, revolving around a boy namely Percy Jackson who is a Demigod, meaning one parent is a mortal (human) and one is a God, in thi case Poseidon - The God of Sea. His life has never been easy with a disgusting, step-father like Gabe and difficulty in studies with his Dexylsia is difficult enough when he learns that he is the son of a God! Not just any God but the son of one of the Big Three – Poseidon.
Not only does he get to realize his true identity, he is also accused of stealing and is the only one who can save Olympus, the home of Gods, to break into war. This is tackled with in the first book titled Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, where the journey

He is upset with the Gods not keeping good contact with their mortal Children. Luke with other evil demigods is traveling in the cruise ship named Princess Andromeda. This name is very similar to the Greek myth about Princess Andromeda, daughter of Aethiopian king Cepheus and his wife Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia’s hubris leads her to boast about that Andromeda, her daughter, being more beautiful than the Nereids, the sea nymphs/sea spirit. This made Poseidon, the Sea God angry. He sends Cetus, a sea monster to ravage Aethiopia as divine punishment. The village to save itself from the wrath of the monster gives Andromeda a punishment, strips her naked and tied her to a rock as a sacrifice to sate the monster, but is saved by Perseus, the …show more content…
According to Greek Legends many water-dwelling monsters live in this sea area and many reside on tiny islands in and around the Sea of Monsters. According to Greek myth monsters that were defeated by Demi-Gods or even Gods were sent to the Sea of Monsters where they were to live until they found a way back to the human -mortal world. Rick Riordan takes his characters into the Sea Of Monsters in search of the Golden Fleece. Here Percy, his friend Annabeth and Half-brother Tyson, are on a rescue mission to save their friend – a satyr named Grover along with recovering the Golden Fleece. They are on a journey to battle monsters that are only mentioned in myths and stories as no real things. While battling monsters Percy and his friends find one of their camp mate: Clarisse on a Confederate ship name’s Birmingham’ manned by dead soldiers (gifted by God Ares, God of War and father of Clarisse).
