Prevent Global Warming Essay

Try to imagine a world without New York, London, and the Indonesian Islands. This could soon become reality if there is not more done to prevent global warming, a gradual increasing of the temperature on earth.. Many people have researched global warming and the causes for it. Some say it is just because the climate is changing by itself. Others believe it is due to the carbon dioxide emissions caused by planes, cars, homes, workplaces, pollution, and forest burnings. Pollution causes the thin atmosphere to thicken, and that causes the heat and carbon dioxide to be trapped and not go back into space. This causes the temperatures to rise globally. If the ice were to melt it would force more than a million people to relocate, changing their ways …show more content…
They say that temperatures have held steady for the past 15 years even though the greenhouse emissions have continually gone up. They also say that carbon dioxide emissions from the U.S. were cut by 12 percent and the global emissions still increased by 15 percent. Furthermore, researchers say that global temperature will rise by 0.08 degrees Celsius by 2050 (Smith). They say that the changing weather patterns are random and there is no pattern for it (Climate). However, all the researchers would be wrong because they are only looking at the United States’ emissions and not the world as whole. Who is to say that the years the U.S. decreased their carbon emissions some other countries did not have theirs go up? Once everyone learns to accept that humans are the cause of the worsening climate changes, then we will all be able to work towards a common goal: to save the earth from depreciating …show more content…
Most humans are not worried about changing their ways because they do not think it will affect them in any way. This may be true, but if a person only imagines their children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren not living a full and happy life because of the irreversible things we did to it while growing up might make us change our ways of thinking. Everyone needs to do their part in order to save the earth from having a worse climate than what is already being created. No one wants to know that they are the reason that their future children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren 's lives were completely changed over things we could have helped prevent during our time

Global Warming is beginning to drastically affect the Earth. Most people do not think about the damage they are doing to the Earth of if they do they think it is a problem for the future and not for now, which is untrue. Humans’ lifestyles should be altered to prevent further damage to Earth’s environment by reducing the demand for energy, recycling, and using less air conditioning and heat, these acts will reduce global warming. If the human race would cut down on energy usage, it would slow down global warming 's damages. In “Climate Change Science-…

Around the world, we need to tackle the issues of climate change and alter the way we consume and dispose of resources. The pollution we create from factories and vehicles goes up into our atmosphere and creates a barrier of greenhouse gas. When the sun 's rays come to earth and then radiate back out to space, they can’t go back because of the one way, very thick greenhouse gas barrier. Climate change is something that many people do not think about on a day to day basis, and for Americans climate change is a back burner topic that rarely is brought up in conversation. The lack of common knowledge by people is both negligent on their end and on the organizations that promote information on climate change. The largest problems with climate change are: lack of knowledge by individuals, lack of participation by governments to collaborate and share information, and the unwillingness to change the ways that a person lives. One issue that effects minds on climate change is society in America has influenced the minds of people to think that climate change is something that is way into the future and has no affect on them in their lifetime. For the past decade or so, scientists have been desperately trying to convince the world of the severity of climate change, but people wouldn 't listen. Skeptics claimed that the government was trying to control the population with fear, or that a degree or two didn 't mean that the climate was changing. Despite the painfully obvious evidence, people continued to emit the same amount of toxic greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. To understand what climate change is, one must first understand what "climate" is. Simply put, climate is the average weather in a region.…

The primary cause of climate change is the appreciable amount of fossil fuel emissions that humans are sending into the atmosphere. These emissions consist of carbon dioxide that ultimately retain more heat in our atmosphere than needed, thus elevating the temperature everywhere around the globe and damaging ecosystems greatly. Many people, including politicians and scientists, believe that climate change is simply a hoax. Although some prefer to believe that climate change is fake and we have nothing to worry about, there are concrete facts that prove these individuals wrong.…
