The prevalence of homelessness in the United States has been the modern day plagues for the urban and rural communities. In the early part of the twenty-first century, there were only a sheer number alone, the problem of homeless has become a bigger issue now. Through analyzing the problem, it is need a multi-faceted solution approach, examining the government policies, mental health legislation and the public perception and attitudes toward homelessness. This paper will discuss the prevalence of homelessness using the social control typologies of informal, legal and medical control.
