Pretty enough to get a job?
Work place discrimination is a very touchy subject, when it comes to the work place. Appearance Discrimination is not the only discrimination in the work place, with sexual orientation, religion, and ethnic back ground, discrimination is all over the work place. With these acts of discrimination companies can be in serious trouble with lawsuits. Lawsuits against discrimination may also cost your job and also thousand if not millions of dollars in legal fee. When you walk into a job interview even though they aren’t suppose to judge you by you’re appearance, but we all know they do. Some job requirements’ may state that it is not proper to have tattoos or piercings in the work place. Personally if I was a business owner and I had to hire new employees, I would want my company to look professional with a clean working staff that doesn’t mean I would discriminate against heavy weight people in the office I just would not like big gages and piercings all over your …show more content…
Both waitresses were victimized by being told they were to big for there jobs. The women in theses cases were both only one or two sizes to big, and there were still with in the hour class figure but they were on the slightly larger side of that but still with in the shape. The cocktail waitress was also dealing with a very sexist company were she was not allowed to get a bigger dress unless she got a boob job then the company would be more than willing to hand over the new dress. Not just women waitress are being victimized, a buss driver in Texas was denied a job because the doctor assumed she could not be up to pare to do her job with out even giving the driver a proper physical, and the company telling the driver that she could not be a driver because she could not evacuate the buss in case of an emergency due to the doctor saying “she waddled down the
