The Press and Roll technique is practiced by applying pressure across the spinal reflex with the thumb, which will enable one to very deeply in between each vertebra reflex point. One will start by positioning the thumb horizontally across the mid-point of the big toes where the cervical spine reflex begins. Now by pressing and rolling the edge of the thumb into this reflex point, tension is relieved. The Reflexologist with then move further down the toe and continue reflexing each vertebra along the way, continuing down to the basal joint of the foot (ankle). Now at the base of the big toe, on the way down the foot, the Reflexologist will locate a bigger bone on the foot, this is known as the cervical reflex. Once again, press and roll with

Reflexology is an alternative medicine that is based on the theory that there are small areas of innervation in the feet that correspond to the organs and muscles in the body. The foot is a map of nerve endings, according to the theories in reflexology, that come from all over the body. For example, the lungs have nerve endings in the ball of the foot. Massaging the ball of the foot can help the lungs to function better. Likewise, massaging and applying pressure to the different parts of the foot can bring relief to ailments felt in the corresponding area of the body, relieve tension, improve circulation and reduce stress.…

Patellar reflex involves peripheral muscle reflexes, which is a brief stimulation to the muscle spindle that results in contraction of the effector muscle. Reflex actions can occur without having to pass directly into the brain, but synapse in the spinal cord. When the patellar is tapped below the knee, the tap initiates an action potential in the muscle spindle within the quadriceps. This action potential travels to the spinal cord onto a motor nerve. The result of this motor nerve activity is contraction of the quadriceps muscle, resulting in a knee jerk.…
