There are various reasons as to why I’m deserving of the Etna-Dixmont School Scholarship. The most prevalent reason is my family history and connection with the town of Dixmont. My father and my grandparents moved to from Massachusetts to Dixmont, Maine when he was in second grade. My grandfather bought a house on Route 9 in Dixmont, and some other land in addition to that. The Dixmont Corner Church was built in 1835, and had an active one room school house next to it that was built in 1808.…

This is it for me because college is the highest level of softball I will play in my life and I don't want to settle at a school where I know my athletic ability and hard work could get me so much further.…

Ideas I can bring to the National Honors society based on scholarship is volunteering for a non profit organization for an event that is held in the community. Spending time on helping others shows that not only you care about yourself but you also care about others in the community. When you work hard you don't expect an award the main objective is to make an impact. You show that making a change on an issue shows how committed and willing you are to spare your own time to contribute to an organization. I represent scholarship by being involved on service learning opportunities that are held in school or events held outside..…

The National Honors Society defines what it means to serve the student body as well as the community. As a student athlete in the Sutton school system leadership, service, character and scholarship have impacted my very way of life. Having a persistent attitude is what makes a student shine and as a prospective candidate for NHS I will incorporate this quality into each of the four pillars improving the society as a whole.
