As the end of 2016 draws near we often feel the need look back at the year’s most memorable moments. Although which moments we deem as memorable is subjective to each person, I’m sure a majority of us can agree that the 2016 presidential election was one we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. With the results of the election came immense amounts of contrasting views and opinions. The nation became divided between those who supported candidate Donald Trump, those who Hillary Clinton, and those who weren’t happy with either choice. The news of Trump’s victory definitely created a movement throughout the country. Several riots and protest broke out throughout the nation and many people, minorities specifically, actually began to fear what the future of a Trump America had in store for them. Both presidential candidates definitely have their own faults and fair share of scandals and rumours spread about them through the media. However, it is clear to many people that the better, more suitable candidate to run our country was unfortunately not elected.
Looking purely at background and experience in politics, it is extremely evident that Clinton was the more qualified candidate. In can be argued that Clinton’s political career first began when she served as first lady of the United States from the year 1993 to 2001. (Anderson) Clinton then served her first elected official role in politics as a U.S senator for eight years, but soon took part in running for the democratic nomination…
