Kennedy excelled during the first it during the Debate by staring directly into the camera while answering the question. On the other hand Nixon looked at the various reporters to address them instead of looking at the camera, which looked like he was trying to avoid eye contact with the public, in a way making them feel that he was lying. Another major factor that played against Nixon was his looks. He refused makeup before the interview, as it was not a thing men did, but he had no idea how this would make him look on television. Nixon already looked pale and underweight from a recent trip to the hospital on top of that he started sweating under the hot studio lights. This did not sit well with the public, even though he drastically improved his performance in the other debates the damage was already done, by just one debate. Voting took place a month later; it was a close election where Kennedy won. Later on, the Polls revealed that, more than half of the voters had been effected by the Debates, while 6 percent of voters claimed that the debates alone had led them to vote for a particular …show more content…
• Trump took a very unexpected and threatening approach, while talking about Clintons email scandal where he said that if he became the president he promises to appoint a special prosecutor who will reinvestigate Clintons email scandal and he then went on to say “ you will be in jail” implying that if he becomes president, he will make sure she goes to jail.
• Trump has still not released his tax returns and so when asked if he used the loss to his company to avoid paying taxes. Trump responded by saying “of course I do”. Showing us that he is deliberately finding loopholes in the system to not pay millions of dollars in taxes.
• Another thing that shocked everyone was that trump and his running mate disagree. While Pence during his vice president debate said that America should strike the military targets of the Assad regime. Trump said that America should knock out ISIS.
• During this debate the candidates where allowed to roam around the stage. This took a weird turn while Clinton was responding to a audience members question when all of a sudden trump decided to stand behind her. He stood approximately 3 feet behind her for more than a minute. Which was very weird and
