The day of President Lincoln’s Assassination. President Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre by John Wilkes Booth. John Wilkes Booth is a famous actor, and everybody knew or recognized him. John Wilkes Booth plan was to assassinate President Lincoln to think that the south would win the Civil War. Booth hated Lincoln and Lincoln’s policies. When the south was surrendered, it would mean the south would lose the Civil War. But he thought if he could assassinate President Lincoln might give the confederate soldiers to keep on fighting. So on that Friday night, Lincoln was going to see “Our American Cousin” with his wife and Secretary of State William Steward.
