This means that they are adaptive, optimistic, and use their power to obtain favorable results. One president that falls under this category is Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was elected at the time of the depression because he felt that he could do a better job at improving the economy than Herbert Hoover. He did, in fact, make successful economic reforms. How else is a country with over 300 million people and spanning an area of almost four million square miles to be run? In addition, in the case of a president who abuses power (which may be the case these next four years), the people can rest assured in the fact that a new president will be elected in four years. Some of these presidents having the admiration of the public for being one of the best presidents, and some just have the scum left on the floor. In my opinion one of the best presidents we have had up to date was Lyndon B. Johnson for his hardy attitude, and having the knowledge to comprehend what he can and cannot do. The worst president goes to Bill Clinton for his wishy-washy, hardheaded decision-making, and for risking national security for personal affairs.…

There is no argument that the President hold enormous influence on the nation and the world. By going public the President can gather support directly from citizens for a certain law, bill, treaty, war, etc., and while he or she might not be able to rally the entire nation in his or her favor, an address from the President has a tremendous pull on the nation or will at least get the world talking.
