The directors have received many awards since the beginning of ‘Downton Abbey’ and viewers around the world applaud both the directors, actors, and crew for their hard work in putting the drama series together. Another example of open-mindedness comes from Rosa Parks, the African American woman who refused to surrender her seat to a white man. Typically, a bus would be segregated and African Americans were ‘forced’ to seat themselves in designated spots. However, on one particular day, all the white seats were filled and a white man was left standing. The bus driver rebuked Parks for persistently staying in her seat. Parks displayed open mindedness by following in the footsteps of the Civil Rights Movement. She became a leader through her open mindedness and expressed her disappointment, as well as the disappointment of other African Americans, in the American legal and political system.
