President Assad's All Quiet On The Western Front

During war, families and friends were lost to grenades, bullets, and infections. Soldiers have seen things that were inhumane. That is why that some soldiers that make it out alive, aren’t as lucky as we would think. Soldiers that come back from brutal experiences that happen in the field, could really affect them mentally. They fight for their countries, for what? To experience the death of a close friend or alway being on alert for firing ammunition. War has been slowly dehumanizing all soldiers, back in World War 1 and even now. During World War 1, All Quiet on the Western Front was written about the everyday lives of soldiers. For example, how the Syrian Civil War is being compromised. This civil war all started with the need of being more powerful, like how President Bashar al-Assad had used chemical weapons against the opposition. President Assad’s decision was against international agreements and the Syrian government called it a use of outrage. A second peace conference was called in Geneva, to discuss the decision to arm the rebels or to strip Assad from his remaining power. Even having the conference for the civil war, “Mr. Assad has also not exhausted the weapons in his in stockpile.” (Syrian civil war: a one-way street Editorial) Later on as rebels started to become armed and acquired territorial gains, Mr. Assad is not deterred by all this territorial gains as long as the military battlefield favours him. But Mr. Assad will do anything to gain that military battlefield, even set off the chemical weapons he holds. 93,000 people were killed in this conflict, most of the people were just civilians caught in the crossfire. War has brought many death to Syria, and has drove many families apart. If a peace conference is not called and war might continue in Syria and might not ever
