Video Reflection Presentation skills are an important part of becoming a professional in the field in which we are choosing to pursue. These skills are also important for the individual success of a person in their field of choice. Strengthening these skills allows for an individual to also strengthen other skills that will allow them to become better leaders, employers, and employees. As I have learned in this course there are many ways in which I can practice and become comfortable with doing presentations. Watching the video of myself is a good way that I can strengthen my presentation skills and help myself get better at giving presentation.
Having to watch myself give a presentation was frightening, but I believe that I handled it the

I feel as though the purpose of going to therapy, especially Occupational Therapy, is to work within the zone of proximal development. Clients are learning to do new activities with the help of a more experienced person who knows what they are doing. I do not recall if I gave an example in my video, but I believe that this would have been a good strategy for helping the audience understand why and how the theory of proximal development is related to my …show more content…
I included as short introduction and a body that contained all of the criteria on the rubric. From what I recall I did not clearly state the conclusion, but without having the ending I am unable to clearly reflect on that portion of the video. I combined the description, population, history, and purpose well, because it flowed nicely. I clearly stated what each of these aspects of the presentation was. I did notice that used the filler words “umm” and “uhh” quite often throughout the presentation. I was sick that day and I am not sure if the audience was able to tell, but my voice was a slightly hoarse. I could tell in the video link that I kept sniffling and that could have caused a distraction for the audience. My energy level was low and it slightly showed through during the presentation.
My visual aid could have been more creative and possibly in color to make it more interesting for the audience to see, but over all I believe I had a good visual aid. It allowed for the audience to see an event that The Therapy Spot was a part of in the community. I also believe that I did an okay job about explaining my picture, but more details about the event and what they did at the event would have allowed the audience to connect more with me and better understand how involved The Therapy Spot is trying to become in the community. My professional dress was well put together, it

For this assignment, my group’s topic was Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and how it is prevalent in the novel, ‘Speak’ by Laurie Hall Anderson. My responsibility was to do the facts and statistics slide and to do the two characters that experienced/influenced PTSD slide. While working on the assignment, I did run into some challenges. The biggest being that it was hard to find facts and statistics on PTSD that were Canadian and relatively recent. I ran into this issue because many websites that I found focused more on America, on worldwide facts and statistics, and the information was quite outdated.…

For me the activity of working as a group especially with other individuals who I have not worked with or talked to before was a good learning experience that had both positive and negative outcomes using Driscoll’s model of reflection as a frame work to elaborate on how I interpreted what happened, what impact the situation had on me and what I will do in the future if presented with a similar situation (Driscoll and Teh, 2001). We were required to do a 10 minute presentation for a health promotion project that we developed. I decided to work with other individuals who I didn’t know and have not worked with before as I believed I would be more productive and respectful if I worked with people I didn’t know very well. For the first tutorial…

Overall, I received fair feedback. Although I was able to hit most of the skills from each category there were a few that I missed from each. During the actual practice I was very focused on not messing up and hitting the key points. However, once I was finished and recapping over the session I realized both strengths I have developed and challenges I still need to work on. This experience showed me what I have have learned thus far in class and also what I still have to learn.…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…

Throughout the course, I learned different aspects of project management, and skills that can be used in the everyday life as long as involve interacting with other people. In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different. It made it easier for each of us to better understand one another in how our unique personalities can be a challenge when working with others.…
