The other form of therapy is called cpt or cognitive processing therapy. In cpt they try to reduce the symptoms of ptsd by taking a blast to the past. Now nobody is using a time machine in this study, but basically they face what happened in the past that caused them to get the way they have become and overcome the problem that way. To see which way works best for people with the ptsd they decided to do a randomized clinical trial with 108 people (8 were women and the rest were men) who are on active duty by dividing them up and requiring them to attend 90 minute sessions twice a week to fort hood, Texas.
