Though there has been much advancement in automated refractive technologies (ARTS), they do not account for all possible variables in the final determination of a spectacle prescription and as such should not be allowed for patient use. There have been a great deal of advancements since there first arrival now taking into account high level calculations about the eye that many eye providers are not able to comprehend. However, trained professionals are appropriately taught how to work with patients to provide the best prescription for the individuals.
