These problems include, teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, domestic violence, child abuse, motor vehicle accidents, physical fights, crime, homicide and suicide. Substance abuse among adolescents have increased over the past five years, especially the prescription drugs. The increasing use of prescription drugs are caused by the increasing availability of these drugs from many sources. In addition the adolescents believe that the prescription drugs are safer than the street drugs.
