Great kids witch is a parents run magazine posted an article done by GreatSchoolStuff.com. In this article it is stated that “Preschool — it’s not just about the sandbox anymore. As elementary school becomes more rigorous, so does preschool. Children are expected to learn certain skills in preschool so that they are prepared for elementary school.” Great kids followed by quoting Peter Pizzolongo who is a associate director of professional development at NAEYC “ They call it there work. When they’re learning and playing with joy, then it’s a positive experience. They develop a positive approach to learning.” GreatSchoolStuff then went on to talk about each area of development and how preschool needs to be more about learning then life lessons. …show more content…
In my opinion preschool is very necessary. I agree strongly that children's work is play. I agree with GreatSchoolStuff.com on everything but how they made it sound that preschool should be all about learning school cruliclum I work/rolentered in three diffrent preschools. All in witch have said “play is childrens work” but this does not mean you need to have everything the children do to be about learning. Every activity I plan or my fellow teachers plan have some learning aspects behind it, but not every one of our activities backgrounds are about school. Most of our activities are based on “life lessons” like friendship,manners,dressing, and gross-motor
