Preschool Project Approach

While being in Pre-Professional experience in the classroom we are required to conduct a project approach in our preschool classroom. A project approach that contains lessons related to a topic by the interests of the students in your class. The preschool that I will conduct my project approach is Madison Monroe Elementary School #16. Madison Monroe is broken up into two buildings and then several outdoor trailers. The main building classes range 6th grade until 8th grade. Also, surrounding the main building all preschool classrooms are conducted in the outdoor trailers. Across the street in the other building is where classes ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade are found. The classroom that the project approach will take place in is preschool trailer #3 with children ages 4-5 years. All 15 students are usually in all in attendance and stay the full school day which is from 8:20 am until 3:15 pm. Within the 15 students there are nine boys and six girls. At the block area, at first he was the only person there. Noticing all the blocks were just in the middle of a messy pile, he began to sort the blocks by size. Placing the big ones on the left of the carpet and then working his way to the right for the small ones. Once he had finished sorting the blocks, he expresses to himself that the blocks were weights that you would find at the gym. Beginning to lift two blocks in each hand and every time they lifted them, he would say “I’ll lift them up and down.” As this was happening, four other students entered the block area to join him in play. He allowed them to play with him by starting to instruct them to lift weights in sets of ten. While they continued this action randomly, he would sit down and say quotes such as “I’m tired” or “let me be lazy!” Soon after the other students in the area would copy this action and randomly fall to the ground as
