The age of the children I observed were around the age three to five years old, preschool age. I arrived at 3:30 pm, and the children were all sitting in the carpet. It was around reading time. Some children had books and were sitting on the carpet, while others were sitting on a couch reading, or picking out a book from the shelf. One girl on the carpet was talking to another girl about wanting to eat chicken nuggets, and imitated eating nuggets. After the childrens read for several minutes, an adult asked the children if they wanted to dance, and the children all said yes, and the adult asked them what they wanted to dance to, and one child said Justin Bieber, which made the children giggle. Ultimately, the children chose a nursery rhyme song called “The Bear Hunt.” …show more content…
The children even did the gestures that included in the song. They stomped their feet, patted their thighs, clapped their hands, put their hands towards the sky and bended down and put their hands on the ground. As the children were saying the lyrics of the nursery rhyme song, the adult also said it along with. After that, the adult put a music video 5 Little Monkeys. When the monkeys in the screen were jumping, the children were jumping along with the monkey, and when the doctor monkey said “No little monkey jumping on the bed!”, the children were motioning their finger left and right, gesturing the word no. By the end of the video, the children clapped and some of them said “That was awesome!” After that, the children watched a Just Dance video using a One Direction song. Throughout the song, the children were mimicking the dance moves from the people in the screen, and some of them knew the lyrics to the song playing. After the choreography music video, the adult praised them, by saying “Good job.” to each child and saying they were good dancers. After that video, it was free choice

All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

Spending two and half hours in each classroom, I learned a great deal about early childhood education from ages birth through eight, and the effort and skills that it takes to create a stimulating learning environment. For my infant, toddler, and preschool observations, I spent my hours at the CCC Childcare Center located in our college while for my kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade observations, I spent my time at Casey Park Elementary School. During my observations at the CCC Childcare Center, I learned plenty about the methods and practices that go into early education before primary grades. The preschool classroom really stood out to me because the centers in the classroom were very open ended and filled with lots of manipulative for…
