Preparting Mileage Observation

I would like to address an issue that occurred earlier this week with a superior. At the end of the work day, I was informed that my mileage claim didn’t equate correctly and was questioned why the distance to and from home wasn’t a round trip. After I informed the coworker that I didn’t take the route that she had printed on the map I was told I could review the difference to determine why there was a discrepancy. After speaking with the coworker, I was informed if I had further concerns I could address it with our CFO.
I asked why there was a concern about the mileage which I have used the method of claiming since my start of employment. I was informed that the mileage was questionable and all I needed to do was review the miles to determine

I believed the conversation was completed after being informed that they would speak with my director about the situation. In addition, I felt verbally abused that I was informed to use common sense about a practice of submitting mileage for almost two years with no validity of documentation to claim a particular method for mileage.
Currently I’m in a policy management course in school and this was one area of discussion that was addressed. During employee orientation and annually, policies and the employee handbook is not addressed appropriately other than to review at your leisure. Most workers either don’t have time or bother to read all of their company policies whether at ICA or any other organization. I believe there should be a time set aside that allows for the review of current and common policies that could affect the efficiency of the employee.
As far as leadership and staff, there is a way to address one another in leadership and staff positions. As a small organization, there should be no reason to have tension around one another or leadership talking to or about other leaders or staff in a demeaning manner. I continue to enjoy working at ICA and hope that these concerns are addressed appropriately through leader/staff training because the common goal for the organization is to assist and advocate for our individuals being
