The first topic of choice is prejudice. Prejudice is pre judging someone or something. There is age, religious, ethnic, national, physical, disability, gender economic, and racial prejudice. An example of age prejudice is going to a haunted house with a friend or sibling that is younger than you. People might think that they might get scared just because kids are most likely to get scared than others. An example of religious prejudice is guessing someone’s religion because of what they look like, what …show more content…
One thing we do have in common is that we try not to label people and put them in groups. We feel like everyone should be unique and other people should learn how to accept that. An example of national prejudice is judging someone because of where they are from. One of my favorite you tubers, Dominic, and he is Asian, and had moved to the US when he was younger with his parents. His parents cooked the same foods that they would normally cook back where they originally came from and they sent the leftovers with him as lunch for school. He said that everyone would stare at him awkwardly because of what he ate. An example of physical and disability prejudice is like my cousin who doesn’t like to eat sweets and candy just because he doesn’t like it, but everyone thinks that he has an eating disorder, or diabetes. Gender prejudice is one of the most common type because everyone thinks that men are stronger and more “superior” to women, but it is pretty clear that men and women are either way both human, and that both genders are capable of doing the same amount of work as each other. Economic or class prejudice is also very common because stereotypically, people think …show more content…
Bandwagon is something that everyone is doing, so some others feel that they should, too. An example of bandwagon is like the time I started to watch 3D animation, so I started to take an interest in it and tried it myself. Picking facts is a type of propaganda that involves taking all of the best facts about the product, while taking the negative facts and keep those to themselves. A great example of it is medicine commercials because they tell you all of the things that it helps to prevent, but at the end of the advertisement, all of the horrible side effects are listed really fast so that no one hears all of it. Playing with emotions is a type of propaganda in which they try to convince someone to buy something because of how they feel. There are those animal commercials that play very sad music while they talk about the sad things that happened to the pets that were abused by their owners. It is really upsetting having to witness something that depressing, but some people actually fall for it. Repeating the products name or idea is the catchiest but most annoying type of propaganda there is. They say the same brand name or slogan repeatedly in the ad, such as the Cuddle Uppets that gets drilled into your head faster than a bullet. There is also Mc Donald’s and their Mc- everything else they serve, along with their “I’m lovin’ it” slogan that is catchier than the Spanish flu. No matter how far
