Lilly: Prejudice is a hot topic in the world today, there are so many different types of prejudice including sexism, nationalism, racism, classism, sexual discrimination, linguistic discrimination, and neurological discrimination. Goodtherapy says that the literal meaning of prejudice is prejudgement and is a learned attitude. Although positives forms of prejudice exist, it is usually harmful and negative. Prejudice can negatively impact emotional well-being and one's sense of self.

Lilly: So, how does prejudice affect and influence people’s actions, behaviours and thoughts differently?
Grace: Prejudice can have a strong influence on how people behave and interact with others, particularly with those different from them. Goodtherapy says that millions of people have been murdered due to racism, prejudice, and other impurities within society.
Lilly: Wow, That’s tragic! Grace, did you know that prejudiced people rely on stereotypes to inform themselves about what they think they need to know about a person, and is also the gateway to hurtful and intentional racism, homophobia, and thoughts on one’s race being superior. After Matthew arrives home late from camping at Goanna Gorge, he explains to his already worried parents that he misplaced his camping gear, and was lost and needed the help of the young Aboriginal girl he met whilst camping to find his way back to Goanna Gorge. Matthews dad’s prejudice opinion of No-Name is displayed in this situation. Matthews mother suggests that they get No-Name a gift as a thank-you for helping Matthew. Matthews dad has a different view on this situation and replies with the prejudice comment “If she hasn’t got one already”. This event in the book implies that Matthews father has already come up with the assumption that No-Name has stolen Matthews belongings. Reading ‘The girl with No-Name’ is a great way to understand prejudice because many events occur, including this one, that demonstrate prejudice through Matthews father’s opinion of No-Name and her ‘inferior’ race.
