In this story, a little girl named Marget is having her birthday party and all the little girl are invited, including her best friend who is a “negro”. One of the mothers tell Margets mother that none of the other little girls will be attending because she invited the “negro” girl. That is an example of prejudice in this story because all the other little girls’ mothers are very prejudice so they don't allow their children to play with the “negro”. Therefor that means their children becoming prejudice as well.the sad part of this story is at the beginning, the “negro” girl is the only one who would be Marget’s friend.Margets family moved to the united states with not having the same prejudice as Americans do but they learned very quickly that if they wanted Marget to have friends and fit in, then they would have to follow what they Americans do. For example , Margets mother becoming prejudiced when Margets “negro” friend comes to the door to hangout with Marget and she says “my mother says you cant come to my house anymore” (5). When i was in grade 3 or 4 i think it was, me and my friend were playing outside and i told her we should go play with the other little girls across the street so we went and asked her dad if we could and he said no because we aren't allowed to play with the “raunchy” kids just because they were brown and black. Personally i didn't think it was fair and to this day i will never forget how wrong that was.another time i remember prejudice in my life when it was being used towards me was when people said my truck was too big for me because i was too short, well i didn't care what anyone said cause i showed them all i wasn't. Another time when someone said that a horse i was going to start working with was “ to much horse” for a small girl like myself, well again i proved them wrong. That horse is now being used as a beginners horse for riding lessons now that im done with
