It is important to also understand what prejudice is all about so that one can be able to differentiate between the two. For instance, Tarek is arrested because he is falsely accused of jumping the turnstile at a subway for not having money to pay for his train ticket (McCarthy, 2008). Tarek had paid his ticket money and stereotyping made him get arrested because it was assumed that he did not have the money to do so. In addition, when Tarek gets arrested, Zainab is left in the house with Walter. She leaves the house because maybe she thinks that Walter is a bad person or he might rape her or something of the sort. She stereotyped him as being a bad person and moved out.
